Notes

Matthew W. Hantzmon — Founder/CEO/Chairman, Hexagon Energy (Charlottesville renewable energy developer, founded 2013, ~25–36 employees)

Serial founder: prior exits Greenlight Energy→BP (2006) and HelioSage→Coronal/Panasonic (2015). Kellogg MBA.

Giving vehicle: Jennie & Matthew Hantzmon Family Foundation (EIN 47-1512784); Matt Pres./Dir., wife Jennie Treas./Sec. Foundation-only assets ~$1.8M, ~$867K distributed (TY2024). Formally funds preselected orgs only — reach the person, not the foundation.
Real major-gift engine is a DAF: $507,500 to 7 Saints Donor Advised Fund (TY2024). Foundation assets understate true capacity. Demonstrated velocity supports a mid-six-figure ask.

Giving profile = orthodox Catholic + classical ed: home parish St. Thomas Aquinas (~$452K incl. building fund), Chesterton Academy $35K (direct model match to Summit), Dominican Friars, St. Anselm Institute, Institute for Family Studies, Our Lady of the Angels Monastery.
Family: married to Jennie (Jane) Hantzmon; four sons — Matthew, William, John, Thomas (per 2015 obit; current ages/schooling unconfirmed, likely teen–college). Jennie is daughter of Dr. John A. Jane Sr., legendary UVA neurosurgery chair — prominent, affluent, UVA-rooted Charlottesville family.

Rating (inferred): capacity high, affinity very high, access direct.
Next step: direct first-touch from ED (no named warm connector identified); classical-Catholic school-builder → peer framing. Confirm sons' ages and Chesterton multi-year pattern.
