Notes from 4/20: Canceled Africa trip so may have time this summer to visit Fredericksburg. Convening major philanthropists in FL on May 5-7 alongside ICLE, Chesterton, etc. so reprioritize giving. Will send him accelerator concept to supplement. 
Sacred Heart engagement – Grand Guild, started 3 years ago with 20 people (grands, aunts, etc) to get breakfast, lecture, then spend time in classes. Now up to 70 people thru word of mouth. 
Concerned with Donoghue Academy for too much testing and Sacred Heart for pastor vis a vis governance and control. Very intentional about grantmaking.

Meeting notes from 4/8: Regan came back into church in his 50s, is really committed to revitalizing Catholic ed and reorienting how philanthropists think about this on a broad scale. Trying to encourage more intentional giving to this cause through small gatherings; first one is in May, mentioned Busch and Ortner both interested. (Recall Busch declined involvement and Ortner has been difficult to track down.) Has a real love for story and for his family. Loves to support expansion into Africa and especially Uganda, where he supports ed. and orphanage from Ave Maria priest that started with 3 and has grown to 600.

Background: Major Catholic classical ed funder; lead donors behind Sacred Heart revitilization; JM met at JNHI 2025 fall conference; indicated interest; JM has reached out several times but no responses.
