Tom is the primary fundraiser for SBCA. They do not have any development staff and their capital campaigns have been board led. Matt recorded more trade-related advice in a Google Doc, but relevant information for SBCA's 1st campaign follows:

1st campaign was $20m -- mix of cash and friendly debt
2/3 cash 1/3 financing
Saw lulls but couldn't discern pattern. Used analogy of kids cleaning up Legos by dumping into a bin. Big crash, silence, another crash. Eventually you get them all but the pace depends on how the path you take around the room.
Their campaign was 3.5 years and completely board driven. No development staff.

Tom Biggins serves as the instructor for the Saint Benedict Classical Academy Speech & Debate team, helps coach the Saint John’s Seminary basketball team, is a mentor for The Institute at Ave Maria University, and has served as a speaker for Young Catholic Professionals and other Catholic organizations. He is the founder of a boutique software consultancy focused on projects in education, healthcare, and finance and holds a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College. Over the past two decades, he has served on various parish finance councils, most recently at Ascension Parish in Sudbury.
